German Shepherd/Husky Mix

What an inceadible breed mixture! This breed mixture is for the dog owner that knows "some" about dogs, not for the 1st time dog owner. The breed learns really fast, will "try" you along the way through the puppy stage, but works like a dream once trained. This is my former lead dog, "Toby's" mixture...the cream and white colored dog in the AOC logo. The mixture is wonderful with everyone, likes people to be introduced before entering the family home, gets along well with dogs and cats (if raised correctly), Very good with and tolerates infants/toddlers, will leave the area of a child if it becomes too much. *ALWAYS watch children with dogs no matter how good a dog might be with a child* Personally, I would take this breed mixture again in a heartbeat! Very loyal, dedicated, but great family dog that will work for you as well!

Downfalls of the breed mixture... sheading! Needs lots of brushing and sheads a lot. Can have food allergies...Toby had allergies to beef (tallow) contained in a lot of dog foods even some which are labled other such as "lamb and rice", and fillers. The all natural dogfoods were great for him. TimberWolf, Exclusive, Diamond...are 3 brands I would personal recommend. Check your local feed store for them. Lifespan, Toby was 9 when he passed away with brain cancer.
