Why is my dog acting so bad?

I hear that one all of the time! Did you know that the number one reason that a dog misbehaves, whines, barks inside, etc. is due to lack of exercise! A dog needs it's brain stimulated and laying around inside (or outside) all day is not going to make that happen! There are many dog games, tricks, or just a few minutes a dog practicing obedience can help solve the problem. Dogs are not meant to be just looked at, they need to be active just like a human does.

If you decide to walk or bike ride with your dog for exercise, please remember that dogs are like humans and need to "work up" to that long outing. Do not try to make your dog run a mile the first day out... this could lead to leg injuries. Slowly work up to a longer distance. If you have a young pup it is not advised to run/jog him on concrete or other hard surfaces until his bones are developed.
